While low-level SEO (such as title tags, meta descriptions, and crawlability) can be simple, more competitive SEO initiatives for  bigger sites can be dauntingly complex. Small businesses that want to engage in SEO need to decide what level is right for their business before either choosing to tackle SEO on their own or opting for external help.

    1 e-commerce site is not the same as another!

    In our opinion, not enough businesses outsource what they should. They can find generic info and sort out some small problems, and yes locally at least start to rank or outrank they competitors.

    But if your stepping up and there is actual money on the table to be made by improving, then stop micro managing and hire a professional, and instead spend the time improving with the skillset you have.

    Yes everyone can use photoshop after an hour-doesnt mean I should design all campaigns that come through the door!
