Grant, what do you recommend us SEO folk use instead? Will the keyword planner tool be enough for our research and expansion?

    • Hello Jessica!

The Keyword Planner has enough information for SEO research, there’s other tools and of course, Google Analytics / Google Webmaster Tools combo.

I’m still a big believer in optimizing opportunities you can see, so leveraging GWT for average rank data, CTR and aligning with GA conversions can help focus efforts.

As for expansion… there’s other tools that may or may not be affected by Google updates… I’m a big fan of SEMRush, you can compare / research competitor keyword queries and produce a GAP analysis of opportunities.

There’s others I don’t dig into as much, Wordstream from the extremely talented Larry Kim is one such tool I’d recommend.

      Cheers
