Efficiently searching through your personal social graph hasn’t always been easy. Several services have tried and failed to truly move beyond the most topical subjects. Greplin changes this in a BIG way.
Greplin social media search can access more than just your Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts. With a basic account (free) you can also include your DropBox, Gmail and Google docs accounts to the search to include content you’ve created. With a premium account ($5 / mo) you can include Evernote, Yammer, Basecamp, Highrise, Google Apps, and Salesforce accounts with more to come.

When searching for the term “Social Media” Greplin has dug through the pages I’m a fan of, profiles I follow, and even email’s I’ve received to bring me info that I’m not only interested in, but also directly connected to in some manner. While this may not be that amazing to everyday users, who don’t ever dig that deep into their own social graphs or content, for heavy users of social media or agencies this is a the boon we’ve been waiting for.
Greplin has made finding relevant info to share within your existing social graph easier. If you administer Twitter accounts or Facebook Pages on behalf of clients (or even multiple of each for yourself), you know that having engaging and relevant content to share and discuss is key. Using Greplin you can now quickly find content that you can use to not only engage but promote your community.
Using Facebook’s new feature, where you can interact with other pages as a page, you can quickly find content shared by pages you’re “friends” with, comment on it, and then share it on your own page. This interaction and promotion can help you build relationships and even content cross promotion with other pages. Content cross promotion, much like guest blogging, can expose your fans to another page’s content and vice versa, helping you to grow your fan base.
