Google Update: More Transparency and Control over Location

Mack Lu, Associate Product Manager at Google, published a blog post yesterday announcing changes to Google’s location-related results that will enable users to always see their location setting and make changes to it.

Google users have been able to change their location, but the process was ‘clunky.’ With the new change, the location setting will always appear on the left side of the search results page, allowing users to quickly change their location by adding a new zip code, city or country.  The interface is being rolled out and will soon be available in more than 40 languages.

About Camille Canon

Outside of summer jobs and not-for-profit internships, The Search Agency is my first official place of employment. I recently graduated from Mount Holyoke College, where I studied Art History and German. I am an avid cook, baker, and destroyer of diets. My specialties are cream cheese brownies, biscotti cookies and lemon bars. I am also an Art enthusiast. Living in Berlin enables me to follow a young, emerging Art scene complete with “eccentric” performance pieces and temporarily converted butcher shop galleries. I also enjoy running, traveling, and handy work. Camille Canon + [8]
