Just came across this article Matt, a great summary of a great product. I'm still shocked even now that there are still a number of people in the industry who know/knew nothing of SSP!

I'm shocked to see an SEO company evangelize SSP. To me SSP was prostitution of the SERPS. Though they didn't promise placement you could usually find that at least 1/2 of the first page was filled with SSP advertisers. SSP has provided little value over the last few years that couldn't have been offered by a better technology that would have certainly led to better products. Closing SSP is one of Yahoo's better business decisions than most others they have made over the last decade such as the ones detailed in our article about Yahoo's 'Y!ou campaign' (http://www.siftable.com/education/articles/yahoo-im-going-to-have-to-break-up-with-you/)

And let's not forget about Paul & Harvey's! A well needed watering hole and place of memorable events after work. I'm sure they miss SSP too.

A good summary Matt - those early Decide Interactive days were frantic and exciting, I'm honoured to have been part of that and to have made so many good friends along the way (some of who have already commented).
