It’s quite simple why I’m sticking with Google.
I’m not going to make the excuse of “it’s better,” “more relevant,” or any other argument that may (or may not) be true.
There’s one reason, and one reason only why Google will be my search engine of choice.
That’s it! No earth-shattering technobabble justification on semantic relevance, universal search, integrated media or UI dominance.
Luckily, I’m part of the majority. (So I don’t feel too bad and a need to rush down to the gym)
For those that have browser or smart phone preferences with Google set as default, I doubt they’ll ever change. Why should they make the effort, or know how to?
Case in point, I had to show a guy at the airport on Tuesday how to change Yahoo to Google search default on his iPhone.
Therein lies the future success of Google as the predominant search engine.
It’s become a default, a part of the English lexicon, and an accepted method of search for the unwashed masses. It’s mainstream.
So before I switch, I’m going to have to care.
